Leicester Tigers are looking to recruit new coaches to become part of the development of the next generation of rugby talent.

Leicester Tigers are introducing their Developing Player Programme in the coming season which will provide a structured package of coaching for new and existing players between 13 and 16.

The programme aims to provide a consistent, high-quality experience to encourage a long-term participation in rugby. It also aims to identify talented players and help them make the most of their skills, whether that is into the Tigers Academy and professional rugby or life-long participation at a level appropriate to them.

Now Tigers, in partnership with the RFU, are looking to recruit new coaches to help deliver the programme.

Neil McCarthy, Tigers Academy manager, said: “We are really excited about the Tigers Developing Player Programme and an important part is identifying the best coaches to work with the best young players.

“We are looking for dedicated and motivated coaches with the skills and attributes required to meet the needs of young players at a crucial period in their lives.”

Tigers will double their coaching centres from four to eight, giving more young players the opportunity to work in the Tigers environment. The aim is to have 10 per cent of the playing population at each age group in the programme. The centres will be announced soon.

To apply to become part of the Tigers Developing Player Programme send your coaching CV and a covering letter/email to Neil McCarthy, Leicester Tigers Academy manager, at  [email protected]

The deadline for applications is Tuesday, August 20. Interviews will take place at Welford Road on Friday, August 23.
