Reach your potential with Hitz

The award-winning Hitz project - an education and sports course designed to re-engage young NEETs (not in education, employment or training) between the ages of 16 and 19 - is now looking to recruit for its next group based at Leicester Tigers, starting in September.

Young people on the course will collect skills and talents in the classroom at the Tigers stadium and out on the field, and students are offered opportunities in sports and activities across Leicester.

The theory part of the course is also important to our students and this is tailored to their own pace, ensuring that everyone who is willing to put the time in can achieve an accredited qualification at the end.

The qualification is adapted to not only relevant sporting work but also around life skills and common issues that young people face. Guest speakers from industry and regular workshops ensure this part of the course constantly developing.

Ultimately the project is designed to lead participants into further education, employment or training. We work tirelessly with our partners at Hitz, to ensure each student is given the best possible opportunity to make positive progress in the future.

From now until the start of the course in early September, the Leicester Tigers Hitz team will be recruiting through agencies to identify suitable students for the course.

On GCSE exam results day (August 22) project manager Sam Swift will also visit William Bradford Community College (8.30-9.30am), New College (10.00am-12.00pm) and Hinckley Leisure Centre (2.30-3.30pm) – and he’ll be taking the Aviva Premiership trophy with him. Information will be available at the venues as well as a chance to see the trophy.

If you are interesting in the Hitz course or know someone who may be, please contact Sam Swift by phoning 07590 890876 or email [email protected]
