Nothing else matters

This has been a memorable summer of sport, bringing fans together to acknowledge success in world sport. Now, though, it's about to get tribal again and it's all about us, the Tigers.

We’ve all made the most of the most memorably sunny summer in a decade, coming together to cheer the successes of the Lions, Andy Murray, Chris Froome, Mo Farah and the Ashes squad.

It has indeed been a special summer, kicked off of course by Tigers lifting the Aviva Premiership trophy on that wonderful day in May.

For six weeks every four years the fans of the home nations combine in the Lions cause, for two weeks everyone’s a tennis fan, we’re all cycling experts when one of ours beats the Continental Europeans at their own game, and of course we have cricket in our blood. Even if you’re not a fan of willow on leather, there is the added attraction of beating the Aussies.

Now, though, we’re back in Tigers territory.

The Lions boys are back, the internationals are ours, the new signings are bedding in, and the squad that lifted a 10th league title is back in harness, ready to defend that honour once more.

The days have felt so long this summer, but now The Tig is heading back to Welford Road this Saturday in the last warm-up match of the year.

It’s Tigers time again.
