Tigers stars of the past and present will take to the field this Sunday for a charity cricket match in aid of the Matt Hampson Foundation and the Lord's Taverners.

Scott Hamilton is set to captain a Tigers XI against a Hambo XI featuring former Tigers Harry Ellis, Craig Newby and Freddie Tuilagi.

The game at Grace Road, the home of Leicestershire County Cricket Club, begins at 2pm, with an under-10s Kwik Cricket Competition starting at 10am.

Tickets are £10 adults and free for under-16s and supporters can pay on the day. The weather forecast for Sunday is dry, with plenty of sunshine and temperatures around 18C.

Hampson, the Foundation’s founder, said: " It is a great day out for all the family and a chance to see the Tigers players out of their comfort zone on a cricket pitch!”

Foundation ambassador Ellis, the former Tigers, England and British & Irish Lions scrum-half, said: “It’s always a good day at the cricket and I'm looking forward to catching up with the boys on the day

“I’m sure it will be good game of cricket as we have a few top ex cricketers in our side and the Tigers have some pretty handy players!”

Tigers XI skipper Hamilton added: “Hopefully the weather will be like it's been the last few weeks. We’ve had good crowds in the past and the boys will be around signing autographs and having photos. It will be a good day and hopefully we can raise some money for good causes."
