Young people enjoyed a day to remember when they shared in the experience of matchday at the home of Leicester Tigers.

Tigers welcomed more than a dozen groups on to the Welford Road pitch for a half-time lap of honour and to have their photograph taken with England international Louis Deacon and club mascot Welford.

They included Ystradgynlais RFC, the first club of fly-half Owen Williams, who took part in a Stadium Tour and a Mark Group Matchday Coaching Clinic earlier in the day.

Clane RFC from County Kildare in Ireland, Emerson Park in Essex, Southam College in Warwickshire and Shrewsbury RFC also took part in a Mark Group Matchday Coaching Clinic.

Tigers back rower Brett Deacon coached the groups on the Mark Group Matchday Coaching Clinic at Oval Park while the groups at Wyggeston & Queen Elizabeth I College enjoyed a Q&A with Academy products Scott Steele and Harry Thacker.

Tamworth RFC in Staffordshire had the honour of forming the Guard of Honour and welcoming the Tigers and Newcastle Falcons teams onto the pitch, while Brook House College in Market Harborough took on the Big Boot half-time competition.

Groups from Limehurst Academy in Loughborough, Wednesbury RFC in the West Midlands, Cleethorpes RFC, Market Rasen & Lough, Derby RFC and Keighley RFC in West Yorkshire all took part in a lap of honour around the world-famous Welford Road pitch and received the applause of a big matchday crowd.

Every season Tigers welcome thousands of supporters to Welford Road on Group Days from schools and colleges, workplaces and rugby clubs as well as friends enjoying a celebration or a reunion.
