Goldsmiths Player voting now open

Vereniki Goneva, David Mele and Niall Morris have been nominated for the first Goldsmiths Player of the Month award of the new season. Voting is open now.

Goneva has shown his versatility, slotting in at centre and wing in the opening games. The Fiji international opened his account with the bonus-point score against Worcester that was voted try of Round One and he was nominated for try of Round Two for his score against Bath, finishing off Adam Thompstone’s brilliant pass to help Tigers take a bonus point from The Rec.

Mele, a summer signing from French side Perpignan, has already made a big impression on Tigers fans.
The scrum-half followed up two tries in three pre-season games with a try and a man-of-the-match performance against Worcester Warriors on the opening weekend and he also took on the kicking duties at The Rec in Round Two.

Morris early-season form earned him a call-up to the Ireland training which this week began preparations for the autumn internationals. Slotting in at full-back he has been eye-catching in attack, where his clever kick created the opening try of the season for Adam Thompstone, and in defence, where he has looked assured unruffled under the high ball.

The Tigers Player of the Month award is supported by Goldsmiths, the largest prestige and luxury jewellers in the UK, who are also official East Stand sponsors and official timekeepers.
