Goldsmiths award voting now open

Voting is now open for the Goldsmiths Player of the Month for October.

Dan Bowden, Logovi’i Mulipola and Blaine Scully are on the three-man shortlist.

Bowden has been in influential form in attack and in defence. It was his long pass that allowed Logovi'i Mulipola to score at Ulster and he also stood out in defence at Ravenhill, making the most tackles in the Tigers team that game.

Mulipola has been a cornerstone of the Tigers pack. He has quickly got to grips with the new scrum protocols while losing none of his ball-carrying capabilities. He scored a crucial try in the opening Heineken Cup game of the season to help Tigers bring back a bonus point from Ravenhill and was a key figure in the build-up to Adam Thompstone’s try against Treviso on Friday.

Scully got off to a perfect start with a try on his Tigers debut against Newcastle Falcons and victory on the road at Exeter. He displayed plenty of the fighting spirit synonymous with the Tigers during the fightback in the East Midlands derby. And the USA international was also a try-scorer on his Heineken Cup debut, diving in for a crucial score in Friday’s win over Treviso.

The Tigers Player of the Month award is supported by Goldsmiths, the largest prestige and luxury jewellers in the UK, who are also official East Stand sponsors and official timekeepers.
