Tigers will welcome children from Stoneygate College to Welford Road this Saturday to perform their official song for Leicester's City of Culture bid.

The schoolchildren will sing ‘City of Leicester Anthem’ in Final Whistle during half-time of England’s autumn international against Australia.

They will also perform the song to our young supporters in the Junior Tigers Club VIP Area in Final Whistle at 5pm on Saturday, 30 minutes before kick-off in the Aviva Premiership game with Harlequins.

The children will then be presented to the Welford Road crowd during a lap of honour at half-time of the Quins game.

The song was written by headteacher Paul Hitchcock and tips its hat to the city’s festivals, historic buildings and sporting teams and includes Tigers in the lyrics.  Click here to see Stoneygate College performing their song.

Tigers are backing the bid to become the 2017 City of Culture. Leicester faces competition for the coveted title from Dundee, Hull and Swansea Bay. The winner will be announced in November.

The Stoneygate College performance is just one part of a bumper day at Welford Road this Saturday and tickets are in big demand so book now to secure the best available places.

Doors to the stadium open early to allow supporters to watch all of the action from the opening game in the autumn internationals, England against Australia from Twickenham (kick-off 2.30pm).

Big screens in the Final Whistle and televisions in all other bars will bring you live coverage of the opening autumn Test from Twickenham.

Kick-off between Tigers and Harlequins, the last two winners of the Aviva Premiership title, is at 5.30pm.

After the game we're staging a fireworks display on the pitch as this is the closest Tigers game to Bonfire Night. Please stay after the final whistle to enjoy the spectacle.

Match tickets are available now from the Tigers ticket office. Phone 0844 856 1880 or call in at Welford Road to book. The office is open 8.30am-5pm weekdays, until 8pm Wednesdays and 9am-5pm Saturdays. Or book online any time.
