Newmarket Rugby Club hosts a Prima Tiger Cup festival for the first time this weekend with a dozen teams taking part.

The Prima Tiger cup, supported by Prima Solutions of Loughborough, is a tournament for under-10s teams, playing for the opportunity to run out at Welford Road, home of the Leicester Tigers, in the knockout rounds.

This season’s Prima Tiger Cup is the biggest ever with more than 60 teams entered.

Teams from Braintree, Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge, Hadleigh, Haywards Heath, Ipswich YM, Peterborough, Peterborough Lions, Rushden and Higham, South Woodham Ferrers, Wendens Ambo RFC, and hosts Newmarket take part in the fourth festival this Sunday.

Ashby, Hinckley, Market Harborough and Oadby Wyggestonians qualified for the knockout stages from the qualifying festival at Lutterworth RFC last week, while Norfolk teams Holt and North Walsham, plus Tamworth in Staffordshire and Wolverhampton, have already booked their places.
