England internationals ready to return

Leicester Tigers' England players are back from international duty and ready for a return to Welford Road this Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

Dan Cole, Toby Flood, Geoff Parling, Ben and Tom Youngs have all been away with their country for the autumn internationals against Australia, Argentina and the World Champions New Zealand.

And Ben says the England contingent are already back into the normal routine of life at Oval Park and are preparing for the visit of London Irish this weekend.

“It’s nice to be back,” said Youngs. “A few of us didn’t get too much game time during the time away so it’s nice to be back at Leicester, seeing all of the boys and to get back into the normal routine here.

“It’s a great opportunity at the weekend and we hope to get back playing.”

Cole started the games against Australia and the All Blacks, while Tom Youngs was the only other Tigers player to start one of the autumn games, against Australia at the beginning of the series. Flood, Parling and Ben Youngs all saw action from the bench.

“On an England perspective, we won two out of the three games," he said. “We pushed the All Blacks but I think there’s plenty to work on.

“We came up short but there’s plenty to be proud of, plenty to pleased about and there’s plenty to work on.

“Now I think a few of the Leicester lads are chomping at the bit to get back out there and make a statement ready for the Six Nations.”

Welcome Ben Youngs, and the rest of Tigers’ England contingent, back to Welford Road this Saturday when Leicester host London Irish in the Aviva Premiership.
