Supporters have the perfect chance to see a new generation of Leicester Tigers players in action with the next two National Academy League fixtures being staged at Welford Road in the build-up to Christmas.

Tigers won all six fixtures with bonus points in the inaugural league campaign last season and got the new term off to a flier with a bonus-point victory over Sale Sharks.

Next Saturday, Worcester are the visitors to Welford Road in the National Academy League action, with Northampton Saints making the trip a week later.

Both matches kick off at noon. Admission for all supporters is free in the Holland & Barrett Stand. Car parking will be available in the Crumbie car park.

The first-team are involved in away fixtures on both weekends so, if you are unable to travel to follow them to Montpellier or Saracens, you can still watch some live Tigers league action on home ground at Welford Road.

Tigers Academy manager Neil McCarthy said: “We view games at Welford Road as playing a big part of a young player’s development.

“It is great to get support for the team and for the players to run out on such a big stage. After all, this is where they aspire to play as first-teamers in the future.”

The National Academy League is an under-18s competition separated into north and south conferences. This season there will also be a final played between the two top teams.

Last season Tigers won a thrilling Academy League fixture against Gloucester at Welford Road and the stadium has also hosted exciting games against England, Wales and Scotland age-group sides in the last few years.
