Vote for Goldsmiths Player of the Month

Voting is now open for the Goldsmiths Player of the Month for January.

Jordan Crane, Louis Deacon and Owen Williams are on the three-man shortlist for the award. Supporters can place their vote via the  Goldsmiths Facebook page by clicking here.

Crane made his 30th Heineken Cup start for Tigers against Ulster and is approaching 150 starts for the club. Against Sale he made 11 carries, eight tackles and hit 23 rucks as a replacement. He followed it up with another big shift against Bath, making eight tackles and crossing the gainline in five of his carries and made a huge impact from the bench in Treviso, crossing the gainline five times in 10 carries to help set up the bonus-point win.

Deacon moved third in the club’s all-time Heineken Cup list when he made his 66th appearance in the competition away to Benetton Treviso. He has been a consistent presence in the engine room, with only Niall Morris and Julian Salvi starting more games this season. Deacon has started seven of the last nine fixtures with Tigers unbeaten in those games.

Williams stepped into the pivotal fly-half role in crucial Aviva Premiership and Heineken Cup after injuries to Dan Bowden and captain Toby Flood. The 21-year-old enjoyed a 100 per cent success rate with the boot against Sale, scoring 15 points, and he kicked another 12 points in the league clash with Bath. He is now the team’s second highest points scorer this season after Flood.

They will be aiming to follow previous winners Vereniki Goneva, Dan Bowden, Graham Kitchener and Tom Youngs.

The Tigers Player of the Month award is supported by Goldsmiths, the largest prestige and luxury jewellers in the UK, who are also official East Stand sponsors and official timekeepers.
