Tigers duo released by England

Ed Slater and Ben Youngs have been released from the England squad preparing to play against Scotland on Saturday and will be available for Leicester Tigers this weekend.

Uncapped forward Slater and scrum-half Youngs are among 10 players made available to their clubs following England training on Tuesday.

England head coach Stuart Lancaster has named an unchanged 23-man squad to travel to Edinburgh for the RBS 6 Nations match against Scotland, with Tigers forwards Dan Cole and Tom Youngs retaining their places. The team will be named on Thursday.

Lancaster said: "We were disappointed by the result against France but very proud of many aspects of the performance and we want to give the same 23 the opportunity to build on that.

"All the squad have been excellent in training over the last two days and I know those going back to play for their Aviva Premiership clubs will be determined to put a marker down for the subsequent matches."
