The Beard Liberation Front, the informal network of beard wearers, has announced Leicester Tigers forward Geoff Parling as winner of its annual hunt for the sexiest beard for a second year running.
Parling has retained the ‘My Hairy Valentine’ title for a second year after receiving two-thirds of the votes in an online poll. The author Francis Wheen finished second and ex-footballer Eric Cantona third.
BLF organiser Keith Flett said: “Even though Geoff Parling has been out of rugby injured and hasn’t played in the current Six Nations games, his beard clearly retains that certain quality which attracts Valentine’s Day support.
