Pair prepare for Under-20s clash

Leicester Tigers duo Henry Purdy and Harry Thacker have been named in the starting line-up for England Under-20s against Wales this Friday.

The game at Kingston Park, Newcastle, represents a first clash of the two teams since last June’s IRB Junior World Championship Final which England won 23-15.

Head coach Nick Walshe said: “We’ve made a good start to the Championship. It was disappointing to lose out in France but bounced back with good wins against Scotland and Ireland.

“The positive thing is that we still feel there is more to come from the guys, and we’re hoping for a good performance against Wales. There’s not a chance we’ll be taking Wales lightly. We know them pretty well and they have strength all over the park, but equally, so do we.”

Friday’s game is a 7.45pm kick-off and will be shown live on Sky Sports.
