Tigers' Land Rover Cup a roaring success

Young players from Wymondham RFC will walk out at Twickenham after winning the Leicester Tigers leg of the Land Rover Premiership Cup.

Norfolk side Wymondham were the winners of the under-11s and under-12s competitions, held at Oakham RFC on Sunday. Hinckley were the under-11s runners-up with Bury St Edmunds finishing second in the under-12s competition.

The two teams from Wymondham will represent Tigers in a Parade of Champions at half-time of the Aviva Premiership Final in May.

The Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup is a grass-roots initiative run in conjunction with Premiership Rugby and Land Rover, Official Vehicle of Premiership Rugby.

Teams from across the Tigers region came together for a festival of rugby and were joined by Tigers winger Miles Benjamin.

Benjamin, was on hand to announce the winners and posed for photos and signed autographs during the day.

Young players can continue to be part of the Tigers Family on the club’s programme of Rugby Camps.

Tigers are running more than 50 camps this year, starting during the Easter holidays at Boston RFC and Newmarket (April 7-11). Both venues will also host three-day tag camps (April 7-9).

Loughborough Grammar School, Peterborough RFC and Burton RFC will host camps the following week (April 14-17) with tag camps running at each venue as well (April 14-16).
