When the Tigers came to tea

Leicester Tigers fans and John Lewis customers enjoyed afternoon tea with a trio of internationals during an exclusive Try Tuesdays event.

England internationals George Chuter, Tom Croft and Geoff Parling were joined by 50 guests on Tuesday for Tigers Afternoon Tea.

Held at the John Lewis store in Highcross, a Tigers club sponsor, it was the first Try Tuesdays supporter event to be held away from Welford Road.

Chuter hosted the afternoon while Croft and Parling and some of the guests tried their hand at cake decorating during a workshop held by Sarah Thomas from Kandy Cupcakes, who is set to open a new store in Highcross.

The Tigers players then took afternoon tea, swapped tales and posed for photos during the two-hour event.

The guests also received a John Lewis goodie bag containing products from Clarins, Clinique, Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs as well as a complimentary Kandy Cupcake.

The next supporter event is on Saturday when a triple-bill of Heineken Cup games, including Tigers against Clermont, will be show on the screens in Final Whistle.

The doors open at 1.30pm to allow fans the chance to watch Munster take on Toulouse at Thomond Park (1.30pm kick-off).

Kick-off between Clermont and Tigers is at 4pm UK time and Final Whistle will remain open for the clash between Ulster Rugby and Saracens at Ravenhill (kick-off 6.30pm).

Ticketing of this event has been introduced to allow us to more efficiently measure interest and provide space, seats, screens and staff accordingly. Admission is £2 per person, but you will be able to exchange your ticket for £2 off food or refreshments in The Final Whistle on the day.

You can buy tickets online any time by clicking here, or phone the Tigers ticket office on 0844 856 1880 (option 2) or visit in person at Welford Road.

The Try Tuesdays programme comes to an end with the annual Awards Night on Tuesday, April 29.

More than 500 supporters joined the playing squad and coaches in the Premiership Suite last season for the end of season awards dinner, with Julian Salvi crowned fans' Player of the Year. Voting for this season’s awards is now open. Click here to vote.

And tickets for this year's event are £45 season ticket holders and members, and £55 for non-season ticket holders.

Tickets are on sale now from the Welford Road ticket office, on 0844 856 1880 and online by clicking here
