Zak's delight as Takeover Day design is put in place

If you're visiting Welford Road over the next 10 days, keep an eye out for the JTC Takeover Day billboard created by six-year-old Leicester Tigers fan Zak Coffey.

Zak won a competition to design a giant poster to be displayed at Welford Road to promote the Junior Tigers Club Takeover Day on Saturday, April 12, when Tigers hosts London Wasps in the penultimate home fixture of the regular season.

The billboard is now in place on the Aylestone Road side of the stadium, next to the junction with Upperton Road.

Zak, a pupil at Dunchurch Infants School in Warwickshire, is a big Leicester fan and plays for Newbold Rugby Club, the first club of Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill.

He entered the competition after his school took part in an Inside Sport day at Welford Road, allowing them a look behind the scenes at the club during a day of learning with the Tigers Education team.

JTC Takeover Day is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for young supporters to get behind the scenes at the Tigers and help us run our matchday operations.

JTC members will have the chance to get involved in roles including assisting the stadium announcer, interviewing a player, becoming a matchday reporter and joining Welford the mascot.

There will also be plenty of activities for young Tigers fans, including inflatables and games on the plaza in front of the MET-Rx Stand, a special half-time junior big boot competition plus all the normal JTC games and activities in the JTC VIP Area in Final Whistle.

The Junior Tigers Club is open to all junior supporters aged under 16 and is free to join. The club has a dedicated VIP area each matchday where you can enjoy free games and activities, meet Welford the mascot and Tigers players. JTC members also have the exclusive opportunity to enter a lucky draw to become a Matchday Mascot or Tiger Cub.

Juniors can sign up with their parents for JTC membership at  http://www.leicestertigers.com/fans/jtc/join.php
