Kettle family enjoy StubHub Ultimate Experience

Figure image
It was described as the Ultimate Season Ticket Experience when StubHub launched their competition to see behind the scenes at Leicester Tigers - and it has certainly lived up to the billing for winners the Kettle family.

All Tigers fans who signed up for next year at Welford Road with a 2014/15 season ticket before March 23 were entered into the competition to win the StubHub Ultimate Season Ticket Experience.

David Kettle, his wife Claire and their children Jamie and Tegan, who all sit in the MET-Rx Stand, were drawn out of the hat as the lucky winners.

Their once-in-a-lifetime prize began with VIP matchday hospitality at the Aviva Premiership home clash with London Wasps, when they were presented to a capacity Welford Road crowd during half-time.

The second part of their prize saw them chauffeur-driven from their home in Hinckley to Tigers’ Oval Park training ground, where they were given an exclusive tour by club legend George Chuter.

They watched training with a commentary from Chuter before enjoying lunch with the squad. They then saw behind the scenes at a Tigers press day as Chuter spoke of his decision to call time on an illustrious playing career to local and national newspaper, radio and television reporters.

The prize concludes at the End of Year Awards at Welford Road on Tuesday (April 29) when they will present one of the awards before club mascot Welford and the Aviva Premiership trophy visit a school of their choice, Redmoor High School in Hinckley.

David said: “To see all the behind the scenes activities that go together in producing the match day performance was amazing.

“As well as being up close to all the players while training, with George providing little insights into the way the training is structured, is something I will always remember.

“It was also great of George to give us his time after the announcement of his retirement and giving us sight of all his media interviews. He truly is a Tigers Legend!”
