Warm weather and welfies at Rutland Show

The Leicester Tigers roadshow team enjoyed fine weather as they kicked off a summer of events in style at the Rutland County Show on Sunday.

A week after heavy rains prevented The Maul, the Tigers roadshow vehicle, from taking part in Summer Social in Leeds the sun shone on the Rutland Showground.

Thousands of exhibitors and visitors were on site, enjoying the sights and delights of the 182nd Rutland County Show, with the new-look Maul attracting lots of admirers.

The new tackle bag and smash-o-meter proved a popular addition and the Speedpass Challenge was as in-demand as ever.

Many fans took up the challenge to take and share a #welfie – a selfie taken with Tigers mascot Welford – and supporters were able to capture their Tigers moment in the special photobooth.

New members of the Junior Tigers Club were given a #Tigersfamily wristband and a new Tigers flag while new E-members received the wristband and a car sticker.

Tom Archer had the highest score on the tackle bag with 168, while Cameron Lloyd was the best performer on the Spped Pass Challenge with five balls in 7.2 seconds. Tom and Cameron each win a pair of tickets to the first Aviva Premiership home game of next season. There will be more competitions and giveaways at Maul events throughout the summer.

The Maul is back on the road again this weekend. The roadshow team will be at the National Corporate Sevens at Welford Road on Friday and the Kenilworth Show at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire on Saturday.
