Nikki Scott, founder of Scotty's Little Soldiers, has offered a huge thank you to the Tigers Family for their support of the charity.

Scotty’s Little Soldiers is an official charity of the Leicester Tigers this season, helping them to raise their profile and much-needed funds for their work with children of fallen servicemen and women.

Highlights over the year include Scotty’s Little Soldiers setting new world record with a 24-hour rugby match staged at Welford Road last year and being presented with a cheque for almost £60,000 by club sponsor DX at the End of Year Awards dinner.

Last weekend Beth Wood set off on a 35-mile two-day trek from Welford Road to Coventry Rugby Club, via 12 war memorials, in memory of her dad, Staff Sergeant Glyn Hole, to raise money for the charity. She was joined for the first leg by George Chuter, who supported Scotty’s Little Soldiers during his testimonial year.

“We cannot thank you enough,” said Nikki. “Not only have the staff, the management and players been so supportive of the charity but also the Tigers fans have been amazing. Many of them donated or helped to raise awareness or passed on kind words of support. We are so touched and want to say a huge heartfelt thank you.

“As you all know Scotty’s Little Soldiers supports the children of the fallen by sending them birthday and Christmas presents, gift vouchers at particularly tough times of the year and tickets for days out as well as enabling them to use Scotty lodges when they need a break.

“Your kind donations will certainly help us to continue to support the children in this way.

“Thank you and I look forward to seeing you all next season as we are now all massive Tigers fans.”
