Huge interest for Group Days at Welford Road

More than 250 schools, clubs and workplaces have signed up to a Group Days experience with Leicester Tigers - with two months still to go to the start of the 2014/15 season.

A record 29,000 people shared in matchday at Welford Road last season through Group Days. Average attendances at Welford Road topped 22,500, including six capacity crowds of 24,000, creating an unbeatable experience at the home of the 10-times English champions.

It prompted Tigers to set up a priority list for groups that want to be part of a Tigers matchday experience in the coming campaign and the club has received an unprecedented level of interest for this stage of the close season.

Booking on the priority list guarantees groups their best chance to share the best day out in rugby. Groups on the priority list will be contacted first to confirm their places after all of the season’s fixtures are released, starting with those in the Aviva Premiership on Friday.

The priority list is now closed but there are still Group Days opportunities available. Contact the Group Days team on 0116 217 1216, email [email protected] or click here

Tigers Group Days offer a huge range of matchday experiences for Schools, colleges and workplaces as well as parties, reunions and celebrations.

They range from taking on the Big Boot, a popular addition to the half-time entertainment, to forming the Guard of Honour to greet the team on to the pitch. Others have taken on the roles of shirt shakers.

Many clubs, schools and colleges have taken part in Mark Group Matchday Coaching Clinics at Welford Road, Oval Park and Wyggeston and Queen Elizabeth I College, working on their skills with Tigers coaches before joining us for the big game at Welford Road. Others have joined us as part of a rugby tour and Tigers have helped arrange a game against local teams as well.

Clubs that have signed up to the priority list include Ping Vin RS in Sweden, Forrester Rugby Club in Edinburgh and Owen William’s former club Ystradgynlais. Jersey RFC, Chesterfield Panthers and Tamworth are also on the list as are Minehead Barbarians, Bakewell Mannerians and Market Harborough.
