Have a good one (almost) every weekend

It's always a bitter-sweet moment when one of your favourites starts to make waves in opposition colours.

The Tig does genuinely want to see old Tigers do well if they move on elsewhere (as long as they have two rough performances a season, one at home and one away!).

As the professional game changes, we probably have to accept that players will move on from time to time. Some you win, some you lose.

In the early weeks of this season we’ve already seen a few of our ‘old boys’ catch the headlines while Tigers have notched two wins out of two so far.

Thomas Waldrom grabbed two tries on his Exeter debut though thankfully drew a blank last Saturday, Alesana Tuilagi put in a cameo performance for the Falcons at Welford Road while Calum Green is re-establishing himself in the top flight as part of Dean Richards’ pack at Newcastle. Tom Varndell, back from two miserable seasons with injury, was among the Wasps scorers against Saints in Round 2.

George Ford, meanwhile, is firmly established in the England pecking order as a Bath player, and Billy Twelvetrees and George Skivington are Aviva Premiership captains.

They all will have good memories of their time at Leicester, and they know the part the environment played in their rugby education. But now they’re focused on their new homes.

And while we look at their progress, supporters of Worcester, Gloucester, London Irish, Newcastle and Sale will be casting envious eyes on their former favourites now in Leicester colours and hoping they also have big seasons (give or take the head-to-head weekends).
