Swaffham RFC hosted another successful day in the Prima Tiger Cup for under-10s teams on Sunday.

The Prima Tiger Cup, sponsored by Prima Solutions of Loughborough, is a free-to-enter contact-based tournament scheduled to run over five festivals covering the Tigers Academy region and beyond, with the opportunity for teams to play at Welford Road in the later stages.

Teams from Bury St Edmunds, Holt, Huntingdon, Norwich, Peterborough, Southwold, Spalding, St Neots, Swaffham, West Norfolk and Wymondham took part in the second festival of the season.

Southwold have been invited back to play in the Prima Tiger Cup at Welford Road later this year, while Huntingdon and Peterborough secured their places in the Prima Tiger Bowl, also to be played at the home of the Leicester Tigers.

Tigers player George Catchpole was on hand to watch Sunday’s action and encourage all the teams.

With more than 70 entries each season, the Prima Tiger Cup is the largest and most prestigious single age-group competition in the rugby calendar. There are still places available in remaining festivals to be held at Lutterworth RFC (November 2), Mellish RFC (November 9) and Newmarket RFC (November 16).
