Team news: Tigers versus Barbarians

Figure image
Summer signing Christian Loamanu will make his first starting appearance for Leicester Tigers in Tuesday's home match against the Barbarians (7.30pm)

Injury had restricted Loamanu to just one brief appearance as a replacement since his arrival from Benetton Treviso in the summer, but he will join Anthony Allen in the Tigers midfield for a fixture organised as part of the Barbarians’ 125th anniversary year.

Vereniki Goneva and Miles Benjamin are on the wings, with Freddie Burns moving to full-back. Owen Williams starts alongside David Mele at half-back.

Laurence Pearce returns to the forward pack and there is a place for Jake Farnworth at hooker after making his senior debut in the opening round of this season's LV= Cup. Jordan Crane will lead the team as captain.

Academy hooker George Nairn is included among the replacements and Tommy Bell could earn a first appearance at Welford Road after making his club debut in the win at London Irish on Saturday.

Tickets for Tuesday’s match are still available from the Tigers ticket office, open 8.30am-5pm Monday and 8.30am up to kick-off on Tuesday. Call in at Welford Road or phone 0116 319 8888 (option 2). Or book online by clicking here and pick up your tickets at the Collection Point outside the MET-Rx Stand on the way to the game tomorrow.
