Last night our JTC VIP Area was full of young Tigers fans who made their way to Welford Road to see the Tigers take on the legendary Barbarians, followed by our magical firework display!
The lucky JTC members who were able to join us on a school night to enjoy the JTC VIP Area full of its games and activities were all in for a treat as Tigers took on Barbarians as part of their 125th anniversary year!
Before the game, our very own Tigers star Matt Smith came down to the VIP area where he was challenged by some of the JTC members in a round of table tennis! Having grown up in Leicester, Matt started playing rugby at the age of 11, he also told us his dream came true when making it into the Tigers team! The excitement of entering the Matchday Mascot, Challenge Welford and Tiger Cub draws came to an end with Matt taking the honours of picking our lucky winners who got to go onto Welford road pitch in front of our cheering crowds! We welcomed Lily Kirk and Archie Watson as our matchday mascots for the day and Adam, Alex and Scarlet as our Tiger Cubs.
40 minutes later Spencer Darling was ready to Challenge Welford in an entertaining welly throwing competition. After a very close call, Spencer was able to walk off the pitch with a win and a well deserved JTC t-shirt and voucher from next. Congratulations!
To end the day, Welford Road also hosted an amazing firework display which was set-off in tune to a special music remix.
Don’t forget, the next match is Leicester Tigers v Sale Sharks in the LV= Cup. The game will kick off at 3:15pm and the JTC Area will be open for 1:15pm with even more exciting games, activities and competitions.
