Ultimate Aviva Matchday for young Tigers fans

Figure image
It was a never-to-be-forgotten matchday for 34 young fans when they welcomed Leicester Tigers and Saracens on to the Welford Road pitch for the Aviva Premiership clash.

The two teams ran out through 22 members of Newark RFC, who formed the Guard of Honour for the game, before 12 lucky mascots had their photographs taken with captain Brad Thorn and England international Mathew Tait before kick-off.

The young supporters’ once-in-a-lifetime opportunity was made possible by the Ultimate Aviva Matchday competition, which was held through the Tigers club website and social media pages.

The competition saw Aviva, the title sponsors of the Aviva Premiership, give fans the chance to be matchday mascots and groups the chance to form the Aviva Guard of Honour at the fixture.

Sophie Ludlam, Jack Wardle, Oliver Lydon, Tyler Waterman, Toby Swann, Max Connor, Jayden Kennedy, Charlotte Lewis, Archie Ludlow, Bennie Sackfield, and Isobel and Bethany Westerman were the lucky mascots while members of Newark RFC formed the Aviva Guard of Honour.

The Junior Tigers Club presents young fans with the chance to be a matchday mascot at every home Tigers fixture.

Junior Tigers Club members can enter their name into a FREE mascot draw at the JTC VIP Area in Final Whistle in the MET-Rx Stand at Welford Road on matchdays and one lucky member will be drawn to join the captain on the pitch before kick-off.

JTC members are also encouraged to keep an eye on the JTC Splat, the JTC’s fortnightly newsletter, and the club website throughout the season for competitions.
