It's not only children who struggle with maths homework, according to research from Aviva, the title sponsors of the Aviva Premiership. The research has revealed that 60 per cent of parents admit to struggling to help their children with maths homework.
The research, which was commissioned to support the Aviva Tackling Numbers programme, revealed that maths topped the table as the subject that parents struggle with the most, with algebra, fractions and trigonometry more feared than an Aviva Premiership front-row.
The study also revealed that four in 10 parents admit there was competition between themselves and other parents when it came to homework, and even admitted turning to internet search engines when trying to help their kids.
Aviva Tackling Numbers aims to improve numeracy levels among more than 38,000 children across England, and over a three-year period, the programme is set to be delivered in 720 primary schools by all 12 Premiership Rugby clubs including Leicester Tigers.
As well as delivering maths in a fun and engaging way, the programme aims to prepare young people for their future, where basic financial skills are a necessity.
Aviva is providing the opportunity for you to win the chance to have Tigers deliver the Aviva Tackling Numbers programme at a school of your choice.
Visit www.premiershiprugby.com/community/tacklingnumbers_competition to nominate a school by 5pm on Friday, 30 January. Terms and Conditions apply.
