England sit on top of the Under-20 Six Nations table after a 19-14 win against Ireland in Dublin on Friday. With Leicester Tigers fly-half Oli Bryant making his first appearance at this level and clubmate Will Owen in the back row - though he received a yellow card in the opening period - England celebrated second-half tries from Piers O’Conor and Joe Marchant, with James Mitchell kicking nine points.
Tigers back-rower Charlie Beckett was also used as a second-half replacement, gaining his third under-20s cap.
Head coach Jon Callard said: “I’m hugely proud of the lads. They put in an excellent performance and fully deserved the win.
“Ireland were physical and they were a constant threat, but we showed real character and I’m delighted with the way we held firm and got the victory.”
