Leicester Tigers No8 Jordan Crane made the most carries in Aviva Premiership Round 16, according to the official statistics, to back up his impressive display against London Irish the previous week.Opta have revealed that Crane made 22 carries against Sale Sharks with Opeti Fonua, the London Welsh back-rower who will be heading to Welford Road in the summer, in second place.
Crane, Tigers’ on-field captain in the last two Aviva Premiership fixtures, led from the front against London Irish, with 19 carries in the hard-fought win at Madejski Stadium, putting him joint top across the league in Round 15. He also made 20 tackles, the second highest number over the weekend.
His performances have not gone unnoticed with the rugby-supporting public, with Crane currently third in the voting for the Aviva Premiership Player of the Month for February.
