Young Lucas wins JTC poster competition

Visitors to Welford Road for the LV= Cup semi-final will have seen the Junior Tigers Club Takeover Day poster designed by four-year-old Leicester Tigers fan Lucas Griffiths-Bridgen.The four-year-old from Wolverhampton won a competition to design the poster to help promote the JTC Takeover Day on Saturday, March 28, when Tigers host Exeter Chiefs in the Aviva Premiership.   The posters were on display around Welford Road at the LV= Cup semi-final and will remain on show into next week.   Lucas was welcomed onto the Welford Road pitch during half-time of Sunday’s game when he was presented with a copy of the poster signed by the Tigers squad by No8 Jordan Crane.   His mum Jade Griffiths-Bridgen said: “When we were told he’d won I couldn’t believe it.   “I think he really enjoyed himself out on the pitch as he was really looking forward to the day.   “He’s new to supporting Tigers but he wants to play rugby himself when he’s a bit bigger so it’s great to be here.”   The JTC Takeover Day is supported by next. It gives young fans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get behind the scenes at the Tigers and help the club run its matchday operations.   JTC members will have the chance to take on roles including matchday announcer, LTTV interviewer and matchday mascot.
