This is a first Goldsmiths Player of the Month nomination this season for Ayerza, who has been in typically consistent form for the Tigers.
His set-piece work has helped lay the platform from which Tigers have secured five successive wins in the Aviva Premiership, while in open play he made 11 tackles, hit 22 rucks and made four carries in the win against Exeter.
Crane led from the front when he took on the captaincy for large periods of the Six Nations with Ben Youngs on international duty. His 23 carries against Sale was the highest in Aviva Premiership Round 16, a game in which he also made 13 tackles.
Crane’s experience from the bench helped Tigers to a late comeback victory over Newcastle and he was in eye-catching form against Exeter in the Aviva Premiership hitting 24 rucks, making 16 carries and 17 tackles.
This is a second nomination for Mathew Tait, who won January’s Goldsmiths Player of the Month award.
The full-back played a crucial role in the match-winning try at Newcastle Falcons, a game in which he made 11 carries and beat three defenders.
And against Exeter in Aviva Premiership Round 18, the full-back beat four defenders from just eight carries.
The Tigers trio will be aiming to follow Sam Harrison, the most recent winner of the award, as well as Tait, Graham Kitchener, Julian Salvi, Jamie Gibson and Harry Thacker.
The Tigers Player of the Month award is supported by Goldsmiths, the largest prestige and luxury jewellers in the UK, who are also official East Stand sponsors and official timekeepers.
