Voting is now open for the final Goldsmiths Player of the Month award of the season.Freddie Burns, Logovi’i Mulipola and Laurence Pearce are on the three-man shortlist for the award. Tigers fans can place their vote now on the Goldsmiths Facebook page by clicking here.
Voted the Newcomer of the Year by supporters at the End of Year Awards, Burns is the Tigers leading point scorer this season with 139. He had a big hand in attack and defence in the win against Wasps on Saturday, kicking 11 points from the tee. He also scored 20 points in the win against Exeter Chiefs at Welford Road, and pulled the attacking strings in the six-try bonus-point win over London Welsh.
Mulipola has been in eye-catching form in the scrum and in the loose over recent weeks. Mulipola, who has been included in the Manu Samoa training squad for the Rugby World Cup, has packed down on the loosehead and tighthead sides of the scrum to excellent effect and his carrying was a constant threat in the win over Wasps.
Pearce scored two tries for the first time in a Tigers shirt in the bonus-point win over London Welsh. The No8 made 12 carries, beat three defenders and scored two tries against the Exiles to pick up the Man-of-the-Match award.
The Tigers trio will be aiming to follow Marcos Ayerza, the most recent winner of the award, as well as Mathew Tait, Graham Kitchener, Julian Salvi, Jamie Gibson, Sam Harrison and Harry Thacker.
The Tigers Player of the Month award is supported by Goldsmiths, the largest prestige and luxury jewellers in the UK, who are also official East Stand sponsors and official timekeepers.
