Leicester Tigers fly-half Oli Bryant has been called in the England squad for next month's Under-20s Championship in Italy.Bryant, who made his first-team debut for Tigers in this season’s LV= Cup, has been called up as a replacement for the injured Harry Mallinder (Northampton Saints). Tom Howe of Wasps is also an addition to the squad, replacing Joe Marchant (Harlequins).   Both players made their Under-20s debuts during the Six Nations, with Bryant playing in the 19-14 win over Ireland, and they have been part of the pre-Championship training camp in Newcastle this week.   Head coach Jon Callard said: “It is unfortunate for Harry and Joe, especially as Joe only picked up his injury last weekend when playing for Quins against Newcastle.  However, I have no doubt that Tom Howe and Oli Bryant will make the most of this opportunity to represent their country in a world championship.”   Bryant joins club colleagues Charlie Beckett, Owen Hills and Will Owen in the England squad.   After the squad played against Newcastle Academy in a warm-up match on Thursday, Callard added: “We are in a good position and grateful to Newcastle for the use of their facilities this week and for providing tough opposition in a fixture which gave the squad valuable game time.   “The camp has proved just how hard the players have been working since the Six Nations.  Following that tournament we met with each player and their academy managers to discuss individual strengths, areas to work on and goals.   “We have a great relationship with the clubs and credit must be given for the way they have continued to support the players’ development and preparations.  We are now all very much looking forward to getting out to Italy and taking on the challenges facing us.”   The squad fly to Italy next Thursday and face Japan (June 2), Wales (June 6) and France (June 10) in the pool stages.   England Under-20s Championship squad: Sebastian Adeniran-Olule (Harlequins) Joseph Batley (Gloucester) Charles Beckett (Leicester Tigers) Oli Bryant (Leicester Tigers) James Chisholm (Harlequins) Maxwell Clark (Bath) Lloyd Evans (Gloucester) Charlie  Ewels (Bath)(c) Ellis Genge (Bristol) Paul Hill (Yorkshire) Owen Hills (Leicester Tigers) Tom Howe (Wasps) Jack Innard (Exeter) Rory Jennings (Bath) Lewis Ludlam (Northampton) James Mitchell (Sale) Aaron  Morris (Saracens) Piers O'Conor (Wasps) William Owen (Leicester Tigers) Howard Packman (Northampton) Ciaran Parker (Sale) George Perkins (Saracens) Samuel Skinner (Exeter) Nick Tompkins (Saracens) Stuart Townsend (Exeter) Kieran Treadwell (Harlequins) Jack Walker (Yorkshire) William Witty (Newcastle)
