“I did get a little bit emotional when I came off,” said Thorn. “When I came in here, I was very excited about playing for this club with a great name and history.
“To get that applause when I came off, it felt really nice, it was a great connection and I’m really appreciative.
“I’ve played my heart out for this club. The fans have been really supportive.
“I love the connection with the fans. I feel like there’s an understanding there between me and the supporters.
“They know what I’m about. They see a guy who is honouring the jersey and giving his all, it’s a really nice thing and I appreciate it.”
