Tigers determined to bounce back

Leicester Tigers are already planning to come back stronger next season after 2014/15 ended with Aviva Premiership semi-final defeat at Bath on Saturday.Director of rugby Richard Cockerill faced the media after the final whistle at The Recreation Ground and said: “We know we need to improve across the board on and off the field. We know there are things to do, but we’re working on that already and we’ll be doing that from third position in the league table, not from eighth, ninth or tenth.   “It has been a tough season but credit to the players and the staff because they’ve come through it and we were in the mix again.   “We’ve had a lot of questions about what we do but we know how we need to improve and evolve, we know where. We are critical of ourselves and we will make sure we are better next year.   “We’ve made some changes, we’ve got Aaron Mauger coming in as head coach, some players are leaving and we’ve signed some others. We’ll keep working hard and believe in what we do and hope to come back stronger.   “There is some quality to come back into the mix too. With Mulipola, Croft, Williams, Tuilagi, Allen, Parling, Benjamin, Allen all missing from the semi-final, there is some firepower there that might make a difference.”   Tigers finished the season with eight wins in the last nine league games to finish third in the Aviva Premiership table, despite being seventh in mid-February after a challenging start to the season which saw some key players sidelined by long-term injury.   “We will regroup and look forward to next season,” said Cockerill. “We wanted to win things this season – and next year will be no different.”
