Phil Tweddle and his family are keeping a close eye on development work at the Clubhouse End of Welford Road stadium after booking the first family season tickets places there.Phil, his wife Debbie and their daughters Katie and Sophie have been season ticket holders in the Clubhouse Stand for several years and were delighted to secure their places in the redeveloped stand for 2015/16.   “I drive down on Aylestone Road quite regularly, so I’ve seen the old stand come down and now we’re looking forward to seeing the new one for next season,” says Phil.   “We like to go to games as a family. The atmosphere is great and Tigers have a fantastic fanbase. Sometimes we are critical and obviously we would like to win silverware every year, but for me it is about the team giving everything they can. If we don’t win, I just think ‘We’ll get them next time’ – that’s how I look at it.   “We went into the ticket office and talked about having seats in the new stand, we sat in the Goldsmiths Stand to get an idea of where we wanted to be and we’ve moved a few rows back from where we were. Now we’re looking forward to it.”   Phil says the camaraderie of rugby supporters is a big attraction for a family day out on matchdays.   “Sophie was a bit nervous of going to her first game but we persuaded her to come a few years ago and we got seats in the Clubhouse End,” he says.   “We were right in the middle of the opposition fans and one of the reasons we liked the Clubhouse Stand was there is a good mixture of people there, with the groups from visiting clubs and from schools, and from the away clubs too, as well as Tigers supporters.   “You’re close to the pitch too and having the two big screens has been great.   “We’ve sat in the other stands a few times, but we like it in the Clubhouse.   “We enjoy being among different people each week because no matter where you go rugby fans are all the same, you have a good chat and there’s a great atmosphere. We went to the Final at Twickenham this year in our Tigers shirts and sat among Bath supporters with fans from Northampton, Wasps, London Welsh, all sorts of teams.   “That’s a great thing about the sport. It’s a big family. It doesn’t matter where you go in the country, you turn up in your Tigers shirts and it doesn’t matter.”   Season tickets in all areas of the stadium are available now, guaranteeing entry to home games in the Aviva Premiership league season, European Champions Cup matches against Stade Francais, Munster and Treviso, the Kings of the North tournament and a pre-season fixture.
