Haka team return to Welford Road for World Cup

The Mana Maori team will add to the southern hemisphere flavour of the Tigers World Cup event at Welford Road when England face Fiji in September.Tigers welcomed Mana Maori as part of the pre-match entertainment for the Maori All Blacks fixture during the 2012/13 season, performing their dance in Final Whistle and running workshops for Junior Tigers Club members.   Now they will return on September 18 as England kick off their campaign against Fiji, bringing their own cultural dance and workshops so supporters can take their turn.   Final Whistle will be open for supporters to watch the England match on the big screens, and bars will be open for refreshments and food, allowing supporters to come together and share in the opening evening of rugby’s biggest event.   Tickets are just £2 – refundable against refreshments on the evening – and available online by clicking here or at the Tigers ticket office.   This is just one of the event organised for supporters at Welford Road during the World Cup period.   Welford Road hosts international rugby with the Marcos Ayerza Testimonial Challenge between Leicester Tigers and Los Pumas on Saturday, September 5, just two weeks before Argentina squad open their own World Cup against the All Blacks.   England 2015 will attract rugby fans from around the world during September and October, and Tigers are opening the doors to all supporters for events around England fixtures and matches being played in the city.   All of England’s fixtures in the pool stages will be shown live on the big screens in the Final Whistle. To assist the club in preparing catering and staffing, entry is £2 which is redeemable against food and refreshments.   Tigers are also organising exclusive dinners featuring former international players and including special entertainment. Tickets for these events are £25 adults, £10 juniors for season ticket holders, and £30/£15 for all other supporters.   Tickets for the big screen and dinner events are already available now at the Tigers ticket office or online at www.leicestertigers.com/worldcup.   The club are also planning Tigers World Cup days for supporters at Welford Road around the fixtures being hosted in the city.   Join us at our Tigers World Cup fanzone on Sunday, October 4 on the way to the match between Argentina and Tonga, and share Tigers Open Day on Sunday, October 11 when Argentina face Namibia at Leicester City FC.   The Kings of the North fixtures involving Leicester Tigers, Newcastle Falcons and Sale Sharks start during the knockout stages of the World Cup, with general ticket sales open from next week.   The first Welford Road fixture is against Newcastle Falcons on Saturday, September 19 includes the return of Tigers In The Park, a family community event based at the stadium and at Nelson Mandela Park opposite.   Kings of the North fixtures are included in Tigers season tickets 2015/16. Season ticket holders can buy extra tickets for friends and family now, with general sales to all other supporters open from July 1.
