The Tickets For Troops scheme has now distributed more than 750,000 donated tickets to members of the Armed Forces.Leicester Tigers are among the sports clubs, alongside promoters of cultural and musical events across the UK who provide free tickets to serving personnel and those medically discharged from the Forces.
The milestone has been marked at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London by Beverley Knight, who invited troops and their families to watch her West End hit show Memphis the Musical in celebration of the 750,000th donated ticket.
Veronica Bamford, director of operations at Tickets For Troops, said: “We are extremely proud to have been able to distribute 750,000 free tickets to our marvellous Armed Forces, which clearly demonstrates the enormous support and respect our fabulous donors and UK industries have for our military men and women.”
