Ed Hollis has been appointed head of medical services at Leicester Tigers.Australia-born Hollis is a physiotherapist with a wealth of sports experience, working in both rugby codes as well as in football and cricket, including spells with Tottenham Hotspur, the Brumbies and Canberra Raiders.
He worked with the Australia women’s football team including two World Cups and the Sydney Olympics before spending five years in rugby league with the Raiders.
Hollis joined the Brumbies as head physio in the 2006 Super Rugby season and worked in the same role at Tottenham in the Premier League before returning to Australia and another spell at the Brumbies.
As head of medical services, Hollis will have overall responsibility for the Tigers medical department, working with doctors, physios, rehabilitation staff and the back-up team.
He said: “The quality of the organisation and the chance to be part of such a consistently successful club was one I was very keen to take on with the Tigers.
“What really impresses me most is that the club is always looking to improve – there is an incredible will to win here. The chance to come and work in that kind of environment was key for me.”
