The letter Q in the Tigers ABC to Z series is for quiet for kickers and qualifying for Europe.Q is for Quick: There are only four players in Leicester Tigers’ history whose surname has started with the letter Q.   Claude Quarry, Sam Quick and David Quine made a combined total of 29 appearances for the club, while John Quick played 119 games between 1964 and 1968.   Australian-born John Quick played at No8 in a back row that included the likes of David Matthews and Graham Willars.   The leading try-scorer in 1965-66 with 15, Quick coached Australia U21s and was part of the Japan set-up at the 1987 World Cup.   Q is for qualifying for Europe: Leicester Tigers are the only Premiership club to have qualified for Europe’s elite club competition in every season of English participation.   When Tigers run out in the Champions Cup in 2015/16, it will be their 19th season of dining at Europe’s top table.   Tigers have been drawn alongside French champions Stade Francais, two-time winners Munster and Italy’s Benetton Treviso in Pool 3 of this season’s tournament.   All home fixtures in the pool stages of the Champions Cup are included in Tigers season tickets. Match ticket details will be confirmed later this summer.   Q is for quiet for the kickers: Remaining quiet for kickers at Tigers home games is a long and proud tradition that supporters hold close to their hearts.   First-time visitors to Welford Road are often stunned that they can hear a pin drop when players from either side line up a kick at goal.   And on the rare occasions there is some noise, neighbouring fans soon make their feelings known. Indeed, over-excited radio and TV commentators in the Press box in the Holland & Barrett Stand have been on the receiving end of supporters’ ‘hushes’ as a kicker lines up his attempt at goal.   Quiet for kickers, which was suggested by @mjsmith392334 on Twitter, forms part of the Tigers Family Values, which can be found by clicking here.   Q is for quiz: Now in its fifth season, the annual Try Tuesdays Pub Quiz is Leicestershire’s largest pub quiz.   It pitches a team of Tigers players against teams of supporters, and more than 450 fans took part in last season’s event. Last season’s quiz night was won by the Tigers team.   Keep an eye on the Tigers website for details of the coming season’s pub quiz.   Q is for Q&A: Q&As form an important part of experience of young players attending Tigers Rugby Camps and matchday coaching clinics.   After improving their rugby skills under the tutelage of Tigers coaches, young players are then given the chance to grill squad members about what it takes to be a professional at England’s biggest rugby club.   Q&As also form part of the matchday experience for supporters enjoying VIP hospitality at Welford Road, and fans can also quiz players via the Q&As the club runs on its Twitter profile @LeicesterTigers.
