Important information for all supporters

It's not just the playing squad and coaching staff that has seen changes in the summer. There is lots happening at Welford Road too in the build-up to the new season. Here is some important matchday and ticketing information for supporters.   Stadium entry & season tickets There are several changes you should be aware of for the new season if you are a season ticket holder, including new access systems on the turnstiles.   The access control system at the turnstiles will change in time for the start of the Aviva Premiership season and affect all turnstiles and entry points. All season ticket holders should use their existing card for the pre-season fixtures against Newcastle Falcons and Sale Sharks in the Kings of the North and against Loughborough University. Season ticket holders will receive new cards following the Kings of the North fixture against Sale on October 10 to use from the opening league match against Harlequins on Sunday, October 25. Any new season ticket holders and existing season ticket holders who have relocated seats or changed price category (e.g. Young Adult to Adult, or Adult to 65-plus) will receive printed match tickets for the Kings of the North and Loughborough University fixtures for their season ticket places. Season ticket holders are asked to inform the Tigers ticket office by Friday, September 11 of any address changes so we can update your details. A team of supervisors will be located around the turnstiles and Tigers Gameskeepers will be around the stadium to assist with any queries.   The new stand Development work is continuing at the clubhouse (west) end of the stadium in preparation for the opening of a new 3,000-seat stand.   For all supporters who have bought season tickets in the new West Stand, you will be allocated positions in other parts of the stadium for the Kings of the North and Loughborough University fixtures as well as the opening two home league games against Harlequins and Wasps. Tickets will be posted to you in good time for these fixtures. The Holland & Barrett Stand will be subject to a reduced capacity until completion of work at the clubhouse end due to the loss of turnstiles at the Aylestone Road end of the stand. All supporters will be directed to turnstiles at the Welford Road End. Additional Goldsmiths Stand turnstiles will be in place at Gate 23 at that end of the stadium as well as two existing turnstiles. The stadium’s safety control box is currently located on the corner of the terrace in the Holland & Barrett Stand during work on the new stand. The ticket office will contact any supporters in the Holland & Barrett Stand blocks R and S if this causes sight restrictions in the early fixtures.     Tigers v Argentina Los Pumas are coming to Welford Road for the Marcos Ayerza Testimonial Challenge on Saturday, September 5 in their final warm-up for the Rugby World Cup. Give them a big welcome and make this a day to remember for Marcos.   Please note this fixture is NOT included in Tigers season tickets. All match tickets need to be purchased separately. Tickets are available from the ticket office located within the Tigers Club Store in the MET-Rx Stand, by phoning 0116 319 8888 (option 2) or book online. Season ticket holders who have purchased places for this fixture will have either have the game loaded on to their access card or have been sent match tickets. If in doubt, please contact the ticket office.   Ticket buybacks If you are a season ticket holder and find that you are unable to attend a particular fixture, you can offer your place for re-sale.   We are no longer working with StubHub, but Tigers are running our own Buyback scheme which will be launched before the opening home game in the Aviva premiership season, against Harlequins on October 25. Season ticket holders will be able to release their tickets if they are unable to attend, allowing other supporters to buy them. A pro rata price for the position will be refunded from the club to the season ticket holder.   Reusable cups To help us cut the environmental impact of plastic waste and the amount of litter generated on a matchday at Welford Road, as well as providing the best possible service to all supporters, the club’s catering partners Centerplate are introducing reusable plastic glasses in the bars.   The reusable glasses will feature Leicester Tigers artwork and will be available in all bars. ONLY reusable glasses will be available at the ground. They are heavier and more substantial than previous plastic containers. Pay a £1 deposit per glass which will be added to the cost of your first drink. When you return to the bar, you will be served in a fresh, clean reusable glass or keep the glass as souvenir. There will be return stations for glasses around the stadium to return your £1 deposit. Bars will introduce 2-pint pots for the new season, using the same reusable system and deposit in the ABC and Final Whistle Bar. This system will be introduced at the opening home game, against Los Pumas in the Marcos Ayerza testimonial Challenge on September 5 and will be in operation for all home fixtures.   Catering As well as the introduction of reusable plastic glasses, there are some other changes at kiosks and bars for the new season.   There is a new layout in operation at the Final Whistle Bar to offer a more efficient service to all supporters.     Welford Road pitch   The summer is a time to relay and repair the playing surface, and this year has also seen the pitch widened and lengthened. The troublesome area in front of the dugouts has been repaired.   Perimeter boards   LED perimeter boards will return for the start of the season on the MET-RX Stand side of the stadium.   Ticket office & Club Store There are some significant changes in where to purchase your match tickets.   The Club Store is now located in the corner of the MET-Rx Stand. There are also extra retail units in the concourse and on the plaza area outside the stadium. Ticket office services are available in the Club Store on non-matchdays. On matchdays, all ticket sales and queries will be from the Ticket Collection point on the plaza outside the MET-RX Stand. You can also book by phoning 0116 319 8888 (option 2) or online any time by clicking here.
