Medieval theme for return of Tigers In The Park

Figure image
Tigers in the Park, the popular community event organised for the opening home game of the season, returns to Leicester Tigers for the match against Newcastle Falcons on Saturday, September 19.This is the fourth year of Tigers in The Park and to coincide with the opening home fixture in the Kings of the North tournament, this year we are bringing in a medieval theme.   There will be activities and attractions for the whole Tigers Family from 10am up to kick-off at 3pm, hosted at Nelson Mandela Park opposite Welford Road stadium.   That’s five hours of free entertainment for all the family.   Attractions include falconry and sword fighting, courtesy of Knights of Middle England.   Tigers club mascot Welford (in his knight’s attire) will be encouraging fans to have a go at jousting and archery, and we’re installing stocks for public entertainment, plus a host of other activities on the park and the main stage, with more to announced next week.   The fans’ food court will be back for picnics on the park and there will be player appearances throughout the day.   Young supporters have a chance to experience the magic of running out on the Welford Road pitch as part of the Junior Tigers Club activities on the day.   Look out for more information on the Tigers website and social media pages.
