Tigers In the Park preview

Leicester Tigers have a full day of free activities and events planned for the whole family at Tigers In the Park this Saturday from 10am.Tigers In The Park features five hours of activities and entertainment based at Nelson Mandela Park on Welford Road before Leicester Tigers face Newcastle Falcons in the opening home game in the Kings of the North at 3pm. Now in its fourth year, Tigers In The Park is a free community event and this year many of the activities are based on a medieval theme, featuring minstrel bands, sword fighting, archery, falconry and inflatable jousting. There will be bars and food options on the park and on the plaza at the stadium with picnic areas and player appearances, and other attractions include bouncy castle, facepainting, circus workshop, STIHL inflatable tackle bag, the Tigers Speed Pass Challenge and wheelchair rugby demonstrations, tag rugby and rugby skills sessions. Junior Tigers Club members will have a chance to take part in a prince and princess parade pre-game and Sir Welford (the club mascot in special knight’s attire for the occasion) will also join the activities. Tigers club charities PROSTaid and RIK Basra Leukaemia Campaign will be promoting their work and we’ll also be joined by Sikh Community Centre dancers, club partners Nottingham Building Society and Big Bear, plus the Leicester Mercury and the Fostering And Adoption agency. Tigers In The Park is open from 10am, right up to kick-off in the Kings of the North fixture between Tigers and Newcastle Falcons at 3pm. Kings of the North home fixtures are included in Tigers season tickets. For all other supporters, match tickets are available now at the ticket office desk in the Club Store, by phoning 0116 319 8888 or book online. The ticket office will also be open on Saturday up to kick-off.
