The Tigers Family have once again proved to be English rugby's table-toppers in the 2015/16 season.

Attendances have totalled almost a third of a million for Leicester Tigers home games in league and cup, with tickets numbers and revenue up on the previous campaign.

A total of 321,342 tickets were sold for games at Welford Road, with an average crowd of more than 21,400.

The lowest attendance at a home game of 17,000 for the opener against Harlequins back in October – when there was no stand at the Clubhouse End and sections of the Holland & Barrett Stand seats and terrace were unavailable due to redevelopment work – was still more than the highest attendance at six rival clubs in the Aviva Premiership.

Nine of the 16 Premiership matches which attracted 20,000-plus attendances were at Welford Road.

The overall average attendance, including the four games played in the European Champions Cup, is just under 21,500.

Tigers chief executive Simon Cohen said: “The strength of support for the Tigers is known throughout rugby and the loyalty and commitment of the Tigers Family is a huge part of the club.

“We work very hard to provide the best possible matchday experience for all of our Welford Road visitors and in providing the most competitive match ticket and most flexible season ticket packages possible.

“The club does not have an individual owner but generates all of its own revenues and everything we do commercially is designed to support the players as fully as possible, so every single supporter who comes through the gate for games here plays their own part in that.”
