Dan Cole says it is vital England get off to a good start in their three-Test series against Australia.

The opening Test kicks off at 11am UK time on Saturday at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, before the second and third Tests in Melbourne and Sydney respectively.

Leicester Tigers prop Cole says the experience of winning in Australia in 2013 with the British & Irish Lions is an important experience on which to draw as England prepare to take on the Wallabies.

“I came here with the Lions and it was a massive thing to come down to Australia and win a Test series,” said Cole, who is set to win 63rd cap on Saturday. “For England it will be harder but just as big.

“When we came here three years ago it was a three-Test series and you understand you have to get off to a fast start. The first Test is vital,” Cole told BBC Sport.

England are set to name their matchday squad for the first Test on Thursday.
