South Africa wing JP Pietersen has arrived in England and joins his new Leicester Tigers team-mates in pre-season training from today.

The World Cup winner faces a whistlestop start to his Tigers career, flying in from South Africa in time to join a training camp with the Tigers in Italy.

Following Friday’s pre-season opener against the Ospreys, Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill said: “JP arrives on Monday at 5.30 in the morning at Heathrow, then he’s driving up and he’ll get the plane with us to Treviso at 12.30.”

On his Twitter account at @jppietersen14, Pietersen said on Sunday: “We’re off, the start of our new adventure. UK see you soon”. He updated his status as he landed in London early on Monday, with many Tigers supporters sending their best wishes to the new signing.
