The Leicester Tigers Academy launched their warm-up to the new season with a match against Newcastle Falcons at Barnard Castle School on Friday at the end of a week's training camp.
Andy Brown claimed a hat-trick of tries, with further touchdowns from Joe Milligan and Joe Hegarty as Tigers outscored their rivals five tries to one.
The match followed a week’s camp at Bishop Burton College.
“The match gave us a good chance to put all the training into practice,” said coach Anthony Allen. “There were some good individual performances but it was pleasing to see the togetherness of the team after only five weeks working as a group. It’s a good start but there’s plenty of learning to take from it.”
