Owen Williams is only the 26th player in Leicester Tigers history to score 500 points for the club.
The fly-half went past the landmark figure with his second penalty in Saturday’s 34-13 victory over Worcester Warriors at Welford Road.
Coming in his 70th appearance in Tigers colours, Williams is the sixth quickest to 500 points in terms of games played. Only Joel Stransky (35), Toby Flood (41), John Liley (43), Dusty Hare (53) and Tim Stimpson (54) have made fewer appearances in reaching 500 points.
And at 24 years and 224 days, Williams is the third youngest behind Liley (23 years and 14 days) and Andy Goode (24 years and 169 days).
Williams’s first points also came against Worcester at Welford Road. Williams landed a last-minute conversion after coming off the bench for his debut on the opening day of the 2013/14 season. He finished that debut season as Tigers’ leading scorer with 187 points, scored 165 points in his second season and another 112 points in last season’s campaign.
In all, Williams has scored two tries, kicked 73 conversions, 117 penalties and one drop goal so far in his Tigers career.
