Hard work paying off for Worth

George Worth says he will get his head down and continue to work hard after making his first Aviva Premiership start for Leicester Tigers.

Academy product Worth, who has started both Anglo-Welsh Cup ties this season, played his first full league fixture in the win at Bristol Rugby last Friday.

The 20-year-old said he was delighted to come away with the win, a fourth in a row in all competitions, heading into derby day against Northampton Saints on Saturday.

Worth, who is shortlisted for the Lumbers Player of the Month with Luke Hamilton and Freddie Burns, said: “I loved it but it wouldn’t have been as good if my debut hadn’t been a win so I was very pleased that we came away with a win on my first start.

“I hope my name is in the coaches’ mind for Saturday but we just see what happens from here. I’ll keep working hard and take each step as it comes as we look ahead to Saturday’s match and the run of games we have coming up.”

Tickets for Tigers v Saints in the Aviva Premiership are still available. Call the ticket office on 0116 319 8888 (option 2), visit the Welford Road in person or book online by clicking here.
